Welcome all Makowskys Maniacs

Hello to all . This is the start of our Makowsky Maniac Blog. Dedicated to all those who spent some great summers there.

We are thrilled to be able to contact those who we haven't heard from in years, share some great recollections and to get feedback on a proposed re-union.

Hopefully there won't be too many bugs to work out on this site . E-mail addresses and contact #s will follow.

    I have spoken to Andrea Zierler, Jackie & Ronnie Silverman, emailed Andrea Deutch, and of course Judy Kiviat....without her help we couldn't have begun to pull this off... thanks Judy

    THIS PROJECT OF FINDING SO MANY OLD FRIENDS FROM MAKOWSKYS HAS BEEN GREAT.TO HEAR THE VOICE OF SOMEONE I HAVENT SPOKEN TO IN 30 YEARS IS PRICELESS.LOOKING FORWORD TO HEARING FROM MANY MORE OF YOU.

    hi wayne, i was very sad to hear about Shelley. It's wonderful to see all the comments everyone has to say about her.
    I remember you as being the king in the first half and I played Anna with Kenny fine in the second half. Who played Anna in the 1st half. Maybe it was Jo-Ann or maybe she was Tuptim. Does anyone know? I have a picture of me & Kenny. I will try to send it to Rob.

    Andrew Bannerer and another kid tried to burn out a bees nest and burned the court down. Remember the water brigade from the pool to try to put the fire out? By the time the buckets reached the court they were empty.

    Hello, My name is Arlene. I don't know if you remember me. I spent 3 wonderful summers at Makowsky's in the good old days, 1966, 1967 and 1968. I was not in the camp or a counselor, but my younger sister was. I would love to attend the reunion, when is it? I came back to Makowsky's in the summer of 1980 with my husband and two boys, aged 2 and 6. We have come up every summer since. My older son is now married, and comes up every summer with his wife, and son, almost two years old. My mother, Elsie, also comes up with us. So, we have 4 generations. It's a shame that Milton passed away last weekend. He would have loved to see everyone. Please contact me, I would love to hear from everyone.

    Hi Shari,
    This is Arlene Castleman. My boys are Michael & Brian Coco. My bungalow is #44 up on the hill behind the trailer. I share it with my son Brian, my mother Elsie, and my fiancee Richie. Michael, his wife Josephine and thier son Robby have the last bungalow, closest to the camp house. I believe it was the Tepper residence.

    Was just surfing the internet and decided to check out makowsky's and look what I fell into. My family spent two fantastic summers at Makowsky's. My name is Mark Gerber and we had the bungalow at the top of the hill. I was there the summer the handball court burned down.I am now 53 years old I recognize the name's Roy Herbst, and Wayne Tepper, I remember the Geiers I am still in touch with Jeffery Kay.If i am not mistaken didn't the owners wife ride around the colony in a golf cart? I remember the swimming pool being huge for the catskills.What was the name of the great Ice cream place in town.Anybody remember me email me at mgerber1953@yahoo.com

    What a blast from the past. We spent 8 wonderful summers in the 1960's at Makowskys. My parents are Judy and Gene Brotman. I have a brother Randy and a twin sister Lori. Would love to hear from other's who might remember us.

    i have a picture from the 60's of my group at camp the Chicklets with hy ozer that is just priceless. send me you email address and i will scan it over to you for the site. i also have an original makowky's brochure from the 60's which i am soooo sure no one has ever seen, also priceless. let me know if you want them. please tell ellen hi for me. since moving up to nc i lost touch with her after phyllis died. hope all is good there. you can reach me at:ccaf116@aol.com

    Hi I have stayed at makowskys all summer fore about four years,but I was only about eight when my family started going there.I remember pauline makowsky riding in heir golf cart.My grandmother and pauline were friends.

    Larry Iskowitz, Bobby Zalosh, Sue Tobin,
    Marti Kotin, Vicki Epstein, Mike Fishman,
    and Linda Franklin among others.
    Probably the greatest 2 Summers of my
