Remember this Day

September 11, 2006, will soon be approaching. On this day, please wear red, white and blue to work or school to show your support for those who lost their lives on 9~11~01 and to honor the heroes who worked to save them and the families left behind.

At noon your time on September 11, 2006, no matter where you are or what you are doing, stop, put your hand on your heart, and say the Pledge of Allegiance out loud or to yourself and say a prayer for our nation.

In addition, for those of us who drive to work, please drive with your headlights on to also give honor and remembrance to those who perished onSeptember 11th.

If all of us do this together in every time zone round the world, we will have a powerful chain of thoughts surrounding us.

By September 11, 2006 hopefully enough people will have read this and will join together in unity.

I hope no one else on the blog lost anyone, but here's to Joe Grillo one of the greatest guys I was proud to call my friend. Anyone that went to FDR HS might know him. He was a teamate of Vinnie"Microwave" Johnson. He died a hero as he was the Fire Warden for his firm and did his job.

Unfortunately my family did lose a family member, a cousin. His name was Adam Ruhalter. He was the Controller of Cantor Fitzgerald and was only 40 years old with a lovely wife and 2 children. Even though I did not know him well, I understand that he was really a wonderful, kind, and sweet man. Let us never forgot to enjoy life while we can.

Jodi your words are so true and were so eloquently written. I don't think any of us will ever be the same.

Today has been depressing for all I have spoken with. The truth is, when those bastards who have no regard for human life, ours or their own, did this cowardly deed, a piece of all us died with those who perished.

Never forget as we must band together with our brothers and sisters to prevent this from ever happening again.

I speak for all when I say that our prayers go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones on September 11th, 2001.

    God Bless You All!

Unless you've been living in a bubble the last 5 yrs, no one can say that their lives were not effected by this tragedy in some way. A whole new generation will grow up in a different world than us.

We will never forget this day in history as well as those responsible for this cowardly terrorist attack.

I guess I have a really tough time getting through September 11th. I can't watch the roll call on TV, the planes crashing into the towers, and I can't bear to see those family members relieving that fateful day..it is way too upsetting for me.

I guess I do not want to be reminded, but we all certainly need to remember what happened in New York, Pennsylvania, & Washington.

    May G-d bless us all!

Sabreena worked for Cantor Fitagerald for a few years.
She told Judy and I that she was quitting and coming home. I asked her why and she told me that she hated being above the clouds and that she felt like she was working in a target. She was making a good salary there and I told her to think about it. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God that I didn't talk her out of her decision.

She went back to NY after Labor Day to find another job and she was in NY during the 9/11 attack. She was horrified that many of her friends died in the towers. Together she and a few survivors created a survivors website and she stayed with Cantor for another year until the emotions got just too difficult to handle.

I'm just so proud of her and thankful that she didn't listen to me. When I see her and her new husband Jason, I am so thankful. I'll always carry around the guilt of my conversation with her and I'll always be greatful that she made her own descision. Judy and I spent part of yesterday with her since the wound, while it' getting older, will never completely heal.

    You never know.

Sue, i also watched the tower fall from 5th and 28th St and when my son finally found me we walked over the Manhattan bridge in pure silence to a friend's apartment till Elliott picked us up that night. The horror of the massive smoke cloud blocking out the sun on the bridge, and the smell is totally haunting
