Makowsky Friends

I'm so excited about all the chatter and fun that I've decided to quit my job , leave my wife and kids , pack up my car, grab my fishing pole and move onto the Rock Hill road........LOL
M.L.C. is supposed to mean Mid-life crisis , NOT Makowsky life crisis.....
Either way , it's fun and great to hear from everybody.

I feel like someone opened the gates to my memory banks. Isn't it amazing at the different age groups that have come here to share common bonds.

Jodi I do remember who got busted that night @ Ellenville. I also remember exibit A ......a container of glitter. We were in the midst of color war..Blue Zodiacs / Silver Dieties..

The deli was called Cousins I believe.

Does everyone remember Jackie's award winning performance at the Makowsky center of performing arts ? AKA the Casino...Curly Joe , OKLAHOMA.....Wait a second, the clouds are clearing, another vision is appearing ...I see Jackie @ a talent show as Krushchev ,,wearing a bathing cap donated by the Zierlers.

Forgive me folks I'm rambin . I'm laughing out loud. My son thinks I'm regressing...

Wasn't Norman Koch Hy Ozer's successor? Koch wore those ridiculous sneakers.

Some sort of strip act, I believe

    Rob:
I have a photo of the last show: a skinny stripper and you can see Seymour, Dave, Manny and some others in the background.
Laurie Schlieffer and I once hid out upstairs in the camera booth to see the stripper. (We didn't get caught!)

Steve , Priceless . I once caught a glance at the stripper , pasties and all. What a disappointment , i keep thinking, this is the big deal?

I would always enjoy seeing our parents partying on the weekend . The smell of alcohol on everyone's breath. The laughs, jokes , smiles and more.
Sneeking sips from our fathers drinks,I can remember (thank goodness) many small insignificant tid-bits.

    Jackie:
Not only do I remember that....but I remember the time the stripper caught us looking in the window and slammed the window on Kenny Gold's fingers!

There were two doctors. One was dr Toco with the red medicine and the other was dr. Bonamo? (something like that?)I'm trying to find Kenny Gold but so far no luck.

I spent the beginning of every summer (7 year itch) in Dr. Toco's office so I would only contract a "mild" case of poison ivy or poison sumac. By the way, I could tell you where every PI patch was growing on the colony in those days.

Nobody suffered more from PI than the Streeters , especially Alan . Good ole Dr Tocco , in Stoneridge. He would walk in , hypo in hand "who's next" . Best part of those visits was going into the drug store next door to buy comics.
On the way to his office we would pass the mushroom caves ....the rush of cold air...C'mon guys ...remember

What about Fanns Department store on Rosendale?

    Jodi, I think it's Gorin ...

Jodi & Shari , Your mom used to wear these stones in her navel , she once lost one and had us search the ground for a hour looking for it . It never turned up. Your Mom was great, pardon my saying but today she would be considered a MILF...

How about this , all the moms kept their cigarettes in a snap-close case . It was the fashion craze for smokers.

I can't believe I'm remembering these things. Is anyone here a 'shrink' , I need help!!!!

There's more crosstalk on here than the lucheonette porch on saturday night. You never knew what was going to happen.

One of my favorite places on the colony was that luncheonette porch. You had a great vantage point.... and could see what was going on almost...well almost everywhere.
