Rob....You should have "cropped" in Flash sitting at the side of the jukebox. Now that would have made anyone think it was the original "Juke" in the luncheonette.

Do you remember that the casio had two wurlitzer jukeboxes that were never used. They played 78's so they weren't any good for the luncheonette. Milton sold them for almost nothing. What a shame. I later found out that they could have been converted to play 45's. I missed out on that one!

Steve and Mitch,i remember the fun of flipping the songs on the juke box and playing the B side. I think we thought we were cousin brucie or something. In any case we had the sence of making all makowskyians listen and love those songs..Example...
little children we flipped to Bad to me, Imagination we flipped to Ala men sy... Image of a girl we flipped to 4 steps to love...the list is endless..I still can't believe that there were groves left in those 45's after we played them so much.. to Jack who made Appache so famous both on the juke and on the gitar. From 78's to 45's to 8 tracks to cassetts,to dvds to mp players..we have come a long way in music, but nothing can compair to our Makowskys juke box for all memories

'Juke joint jumpin' for sure. Music that defined many generations. Sometimes the B side was better than the A. 10 cents a play 3 for 25.

Steve , I remember those old Jukes, they were classics .

    Red Rubber Ball?

Mindy, I should've known, you kissed me farewell. There's a lesson to be learned in that and I learned it very well.

Now I know you're not the only Starfish in the Sea. If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me.

The story's in the past with nothing to recall. I have my life to lead and I don't need you at all.

The roller coaster ride we took is nearly at the end. I bought my ticket with my tears and that's all I'm going to spend...

Nah, Mindy, I don't think I remember Red Rubber Ball by the Cyrcles?

    LOL

Mindy , I thought I was the only Music Junkie , Burning & churnin techie type. Some of the other guys like Mitch , Larry and Steve are 'Music Pimps' Too (sorry guys no offense, YO, YO), but I can't imagine anyone as obsessed as myself. The boys are also misic lovers, but obviously their taste (you call that taste?) is different. LOL. Steve & Judy want to spearhead a project...See the POST

Gail.... I see you are posting...Gr8 job. I spoke to Flash & Phyllis over the weekend. They sound terrific and are observing the activities on the blog. There are probably alot of "closet bloggers" in cyberspace.

It's time "to come out" to the rest of us.

Augie, good site. Currently we are using limewire. Used all the others over the yrs till they shut them down.

Limewire has a good interface. If any of you guys(girls) haven't taken the plunge to satellite radio , go for it

Mindy , I took Adam (my middle son) to his 1st concert yrs ago ..Metallica . Not much has changed, my ears were ringing for days. Everybody there had some part of their body pierced. Glad I avoided the Mosh pit. HA

Yo , Augie , Al Kooper for sure . There was so much more music goin on in those days that never made it to the juke box. It was the transition from Am to FM . Album oriented music.
WNEW. True story. One night we had a camp out in the gym. Well the weekend before my father gave me this new radio..Whoa!! integrated circuits , FM , frequency blah blah

We were playing it late at night , I was able to tune into WABC-FM.(before WNEW) I was awake all night listening to this new Fm music format. It was awesome back then.

Yo Rob, we didn't fully appreciate what a perfect age we were for music, besides the jukebox, the older guys would play Cream, Hendrix, janis and all the classic Woodstock bands, more music The instrumental The Horse, anything by the Ventures, Four Seasons, Herman's hermits, Rare Earth, yippie! Anytime my mom dragged me home and i missed a paddleball game or punchball, even football game i was a wreck

My Mom threatened me that summer of woodstock , there was no way I was going . Oh well , I bought the Album and stayed dry...Ha

Rare Earth was the only white motown group. I saw them with Sly and the mishpacha stone @ the Garden when I was 15. Ellen was with me too. It was groovy!!!

Hey Mitch, didn't some of you older guys make it to Woodstock? I though there were some 18-20 year old in 69 guys who made it . I know me and some guys plotted and got ratted out.

    Augie...
One of the regrets in life. We had heard that traffic was impossible & all roads were closed near White Lake...(Yasgur's farm)
" THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY'S CLOSED MAN " A bunch of us planned to leave the colony on day 2...but it was raining and someone's mom ( not mine ) got wind of it and spread the word and our excursion was stopped. Do any of my contemporaries remember whose mom it was that told the other moms about our concert plans?...

Every Sunday night before my Dad would drive home he would take us to the luncheonette for Ice cream Sundaes . Funny thing is I've never been able to replace the taste of those sundaes , they were the best.

Here's anothe crazy one , listen carefully and you'll here the sound of a frozen hamburger slide across a hot grill.

    Roberta,
69 was my last year and i was up for maybe a week in 70 and was in Camp Toledo with Bobby L in 71, it was in High Falls so i might have snuck over once or twice. I do remember meeting some nice new people at the life guards room over the garage. But as one of my favorite movie lines by Dennis Hopper goes:" if you remember the 60's you weren't there" I'm sure you could help me out. my family stopped coming about 2 years too early for me
But I confess your name's been buggin me since i saw it.
