Hey Larry & Mitch , I told you that I'd eventually come on. We had a great day at the beach today , (sorry to rub it in )

Hope everyone had a nice Passover.

Time now for Rob & I watch the Sopranos. Rob & Tony both love the History channel.

    BTW, what's 'gabbagool' ?

Ellen has returned. The beach...huh?...all of us up north are sure jealous.

I think "gabbagool" is a slang pronunciation for "capicola" which is a spicy italian meat like salami or ham....."What?... no f*&^%'n Ziti?"

Didn't the Sopranos episode tonight make you think of Makowsky's?...with the scenic Mountains & the Adirondack chairs?

Who knew those chairs had a name back then. Ellen, nice to see an old friend on here. Love to Cody. See you in a few weeks.

Mitch, didn't know you were a linguist.

I must be the only person that has never seen a Soprano's episode. Up until this year I never watched Idol. I can't do appointment tv.

Mitch got the capicola right. If you say Cappy cola in a Deli in my neighborhood you end up....DEAD!
Never prounounce the vowell at the end when dealing with sicilians, I loved the sopranos, probably because it was like Makowskys and Jody cheats in monopoly too, Oh wait that was me i cheat in monopoly, Shilling taught me how.

There were Parker bros. rules and there were house rules. We would play the short version , deal out the properties then negotiate. Perfect for those nights in the Bungalows.

Two things that will possibly haunt Bobby Baccala, one- he mentioned his family came to the USA via Canada
    also,
His piece of shirt being ripped off contains his DNA (as he mentioned earlier in the episode)This being his 1st wacking showed his clumsiness.

I loved the Parker Brothers reference last night....

I don't know how many Sopranos fans there are out there....but one thing I do like are the clever expressions that seem to unfold every week.

    Do you have any favorites?

One of mine comes from Season 2.

Junior is talking to Tony in his doctor's office and says while lamenting his state of mind at the time....

"The Feds are so far up my ass that they can taste Brylcream."

My friend Stu "Zully" Schwartz a bungalow colony vet but from near where Jody lives was in 3 episodes as Tony's accountant Alan Ginsberg. He got to go to the track and play in a poker game. Also got to tell Tony to diss Carmela's cousin the financial planner

When Adriana was wacked , her mother kinda blamed Carmella for Adrianas disappearance. She has has passionate vengence for the Sopranos (maybe ? )

Whatever happened to Furio ? will he return ?

What stupid move will Anthony Jr make this time?

And what about Meadow? Why is she the most normal one in the Family?
    (Meadow has really blossomed, LOL)

Maybe the Russian Dude will return

Christopher will definitely self destruct, get clumsy ..

The IRS might be UP Tonys !!!!!!

Who knows what David Chase will do

Hey I was once Big Julie from Chicago

I shot a lotta crap at the Biltmore Garage.

    Rob...

Adrianna's mom (Liz LaCerva) was in the hospital for a suicide attempt...you could be right?

Furio is back in Italy so he isn't tempted by Carmella anymore...( Didn't you love the scene where he almost pushed Tony into the planes propeller?...he might return...you could be right?

AJ will probably get Blanca pregnant....and then....who knows? David Chase does...

I agree that Meadow is a very interesting character...the one who will probably succeed in spite of her own family ties...

I would love to see the Russian dude return...that would doom Paulie Walnuts....right?

Christopher is definitely on track to get whacked when Tony finally finds out he's using again...

Rob, now the $64,000 question...what will happen to Tony? Who knows? I guess only David Chase does...

    Mitch
Christopher might get whacked but not for using. Don't you remember that when he was drying out, him and Tony carjacked some wine and Tony had Christopher drink with him.

He would only care if Christopher gets caught.

As for Meadow.......you only think she's interesting since she's the best looking woman on the show. She's shallow too.....doesn't care what Tony does as long as she can live the high life using him for her own convenience.

    TAKE THAT ALL YOUS GUYS!!!

    Steve,

Actually, I find her interesting for two reasons:

    1. She graduated Jericho High School with my nephew Adam. (Steffi's son)

    2. She also lived next door to one of my clients in Jericho. I saw her one day right before Season 1 was ending. She was getting into a shiny white 320i and I asked her what was going to happen with Livia (Tony's mom) and all she did was smile and wave.

    OK...you're right...she's also cute! Fugeddahboutit!!!

She knows exactly what the Family is all about and will someday return when something big goes down or occurs to the family.
Maybe Tony will die and Meadow takes on a role. She has dormant Soprano blood ready to come out.

Who else could replace Tony. Silvio had a panic attack when Tony was in the hospital , he not up to it so he's out,

    Rob...

You could be right. The only reason that might not be the case is that it would follow the same story line as The Godfather. Remember, Michael Corleone was not involved in the family business and was forced into it after Vito Corleone was shot.

BTW, another favorite line...Meadow is talking to Tony as they are looking for colleges together....

"Did (other) kids ever find fifty thousand dollars in Krugerrands and a .45 automatic while they were hunting for easter eggs?"

  • At 4/13/2007 10:33 PM , Blogger Rob said...

Also , Michael Corleone was dragged back in in pt 3

Tony is being totally realistic and surreal about life. He realizes what has happened to those around him and how things can change in a second. Remeber his dream sequence while in the hospital. It changed his attitude somewhat.

AJs hot young tamale is trouble . I think she has him wrapped around her finger (among other things)

    Rob...

    What's with Carmella's shoulder?
    Maybe a little forshadowing there.

Looks like Christopher is in deep trouble. Tsoris for sure !

Also , It looks like film producing is not his expertise. He should'nt quit his day job.

    Rob...

You're right, Chris is in trouble, but I think Phil Leotardo will be the one to target Chris. He is looking for his "pound of flesh"...to avenge his brother Billy's demise.

Phil has become a bitter man and as such will more than likely make him careless. After all the yrs of being a captain for Carmine sr. & then Johnny S have has made him emerge from their shadow with vengence and bitterness. Everyone knows how he feels towards the Jersey 'crew' and this might serve as a cause of his demise. Any move he makes to avenge his brother will be recognized easily and cause retribution to him.
