the only sport that went on strike and no one noticed. i confess i'm one of those guys that loved hockey especially the GAG line Ratelle, Hadfield and my fav he shoots he scores Rod Gilbert the other number 7 in NY and lost interest. The rangers wore me down, I mean first in a 6 team league they can't make the playoffs let alone the cup, then the Islanders dominate in like their 4th year. i didn't have the staying power of a cub or red sox fan. I was sad when gump died. Imagine playing goalie without a mask
Panther stadium (Bank Atlantic Ctr) is a great arena and 5 minutes from my home . State of the Art with many luxury suites and gourmet catering services.
They were a customer of mine years ago. I spent much time there behind the scenes and loved being there without any people around. Also, I was backstage listening to the Stones rehearsal & watched warm up for the Circus. The place smelled like Elephant crap then.
For Hockey games , there's not a bad seat in the house. For concerts , it depends on the stage location.
The arena actually advertises to give away the damn elephant dung to whoever wants to come and haul it away. Great thought huh? I can imagine some local citrus farmer using 'Ringling Bros. fertilizer" , great.....
Jack, i did get into the 94 championship but by then i was numb to Rangers and really hardly watched till end or regular season...Messier really helped and Richter too, but i was really fair weather fan, once Keenan booked and they stunk again I've faded from the sport Sat night I was in City Island at the Black Whale, ever go there? Nice small restaurant. Good steak and for extra$6 get price fix with awesome desserts. Chocolate cake almost as good as an Ebinger's black out

Anyone remember playing dek hockey in the camphouse? It was a blast. I bet the baskets are still painted with Crimson Red Stars on one end and Silver Deities on the other! Well, I'm 45, still play hockey. Love those Rangers! Eddie #1 Giacomin, Brad Park, Middleton, Gilbert and of course, Brian Leetch! The Brooklynites were the Rangers fans and the kids from the Island were Islanders fans..The new kids on the block...

As a teen we had a local town street hockey team . No skates , No equipment, home made goals and pads.
We'd use these plastic ended sticks that if immersed in boiling water you could put mega-curves to . Made it awesome for wrist and slap shots.
BTW , we used a roll of plastic electrical tape , after a while it became slick and faster than a puck.

We sometimes forget that if you can't skate , you can't play. Hockey players are special type of athletes.
Have you ever been to a game when a glass panel shatters , it's frightning
And just think, players once went helmetless .
